Pride Health is seeking a Patient Financial Advisor for one of its clients in New York.
This is a 13-week contract with the possibility of an extension with competitive pay and benefits.
Location – New York, NY 10032
Pay range - $24 to $26 per Hour on a W2.
Length of assignment – 13 weeks of Contract (Possibility of Extension)
Shift – Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 20:00) 7 am - 8 PM Flexible schedule Monday through Saturday, no more than 2 Saturdays per Month.
Job Summary
The Patient Financial Advisor is responsible for patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, authorizations, and financial counseling for radiology/imaging services. This role ensures accurate patient information, supports revenue cycle processes, and provides excellent customer service.
Job Duties
- Schedule patients for radiology procedures, imaging appointments, admissions, surgeries, and ancillary services.
- Perform patient registration and pre-registration activities, including verification and updating of demographic and insurance information.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and medical necessity, and obtain required authorizations and pre-certifications.
- Communicate financial responsibilities to patients and collect payments according to organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within electronic registration systems.
- Greet and assist patients professionally while creating a positive customer experience.
- Answer inbound and outbound calls using professional telephone etiquette.
- Review required forms and obtain patient signatures as needed.
- Monitor appointment statuses, including arrivals, cancellations, no-shows, and reschedules.
- Assist patients with portal enrollment and completion of pre-registration questionnaires/forms.
- Support charge posting and resolve registration or billing-related errors promptly.
- Coordinate with external providers, insurance carriers, and departments to obtain necessary documentation.
- File and maintain medical records, laboratory reports, imaging reports, and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, billing compliance standards, and organizational safety policies.
- Participate in ongoing departmental training and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Healthcare registration, scheduling, or medical office experience preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology preferred
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred
