DIRECTOR OF RISING GEN

Coordinate Northern Trust (NT) Wealth Management's strategic efforts to design a uniquely Northern Trust experience for rising generation clients, prospects and partners. Position ourselves as the industry leader in rising gen engagement by working across multiple disciplines and personas to develop comprehensive advisory deliverables for our target market. Identify current NT strengths, create a future vision for an industry competitive NT servicing platform and prioritize steps to methodically close gaps between the two. Collaborate with NT Partners across Wealth Management to draw out themes, execute on strategic deliverables, develop content and plan events.
STRATEGY:
- Deepen the firm's engagement with rising generation prospects, clients and employees
- Own, develop and serve as point of contact for all Rising Gen initiatives
- Assess current offering, identify gaps, prioritize opportunities and execute on projects to enhance NT's rising gen service model, client offerings and talent development to guide the development of the future of Wealth Management at NT.
- Lead content development for rising generation client programs, firm resources and meeting tools to support advisors
- Establish new initiatives to deepen the firm's relationship with rising generation clients, e.g., creating community both internally and externally
- Create NT mentoring model pairing select NT rising gen talent with NT functional expertise
- Support existing initiatives focused on engaging the rising generation
- Drive scale through continued design and implementation of processes, advisor resources and talent development across multiple areas of engagement
- Work directly with clients and prospects delivering coaching and mentoring, education, meeting facilitation and advising on succession planning, governance and family business issues
- Act as a centralized resource to assist in developing agendas, and co-leading client meetings with local teams
- Share expertise internally with relationship management teams
- Collaborate with other advisors and leaders in business development, client service delivery and client engagement
- Develop and evaluate metrics to measure effectiveness of engagement, growth and retention
- BA, BS, Masters or JD, related Industry qualification (e.g. CFP, Legal, LLM, CTFA, CPWA) is preferred
- Understanding of emotional complexity as it relates to families of significant wealth
- Proven ability to navigate multigenerational dynamics
- Proven strategic ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; process redesign and research experience
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
$205,700 - 360,100 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
